Trans Military Ban: A third federal court ruled this week that the President’s ban on retaining and recruiting transgender military service members is unconstitutional. The Washington State district court ruled in Karnoski v. Trump that “…the ban arbitrarily flew in the face of the Pentagon’s own studies and conclusions, and unconstitutionally targeted transgender people without any credible reason.”
The Administration is appealing other rulings from courts in Maryland and the District of Columbia. The Pentagon said it will let openly transgender people enlist in the military starting on January 1 according to the Associated Press because the order has been blocked, albeit through preliminary injunctions so far, in court battles.
